This ROJECO replacement filter set is made for the ROJECO 2L Stainless Steel Cat Water Fountain. Fresh filters trap hair, dirt and food debris before they reach the pump, which keeps the water clear and the fountain running smoothly. Each set pairs an activated carbon filter with a sponge filter, so the water passes through two stages before your cat drinks it.
Double filtration: filter plus sponge
The set works in two stages. The sponge filter catches hair, debris and larger particles first. The activated carbon filter then deals with the finer impurities, and the manufacturer states that it also removes residual heavy metals.
Sponge filter
The sponge is the first line of defence. It filters out hair, debris and large particles so they never reach the pump or build up in the water.
Filter materials
Each filter pad is built from two layers: granular activated carbon and a nonwoven fabric cover. The fabric holds the carbon in place and filters out fine particles as water flows through.

Before first use: rinse and soak
New filters should be rinsed and soaked before they go into the fountain:
- Rinse the new filter under running water.
- Soak it in a clean bowl for 5 minutes.
- Make sure it is fully soaked before you turn the fountain on. Otherwise the water may not diffuse through the filter and could overflow.
- Do not soak the filter inside the fountain tank, because this leaves dust on the surface of the water.
How to change the filter
- Unplug the fountain and lift off the pump housing.
- Take out the used sponge and filter.
- Fit the new sponge and the soaked filter in the filter compartment.
- Put the pump housing back, plug in and check the water flows.
